The Michigan Beef Industry Commission staff is focused on building demand for beef by growing consumer trust and promoting beef’s value.  We are proud to work on behalf of Michigan’s beef farmers and ranchers.


George Quackenbush

Executive Director

George is responsible for administering the beef checkoff program and directing all activities of the MBIC, including planning, budgeting, staff and program oversight.  He serves as a spokesperson for the beef industry and maintains industry relations with media and producer groups.  In his free time, you will usually find George enjoying the outdoors or working at his family farm in Northeastern Michigan.

Jacquie manages all bookkeeping and accounting responsibilities. She also manages the Beef Checkoff collection and compliance.

Katie Serbinski, MS, rdn

director of nutrition and consumer communications

Katie serves as the primary relationship manager with key health and nutrition professionals and bloggers in the state of Michigan.  She collaborates with the national and state industry stakeholders to develop and deliver health and nutrition education and resources to health professionals and consumers across the state.  She also manages and monitors social media accounts for the Michigan Beef Industry Commission, and serves as a spokesperson in the areas of nutrition, health, and issues management.
